Nostalgic - A Melancholy Saturday

A Melancholy Saturday

Listening to oldies that were once popular or hip 10 years ago.

10 years and many things have changed. In the past, we used to read books, comics or magazines on mrt but now if you scan through the train, you will probably realised more than half of the passengers are either on their mobiles, Ipad or other electronic devices

The world has evolved to such highly advanced level.  It's irony that when we started living in such high standards, we tend to miss the most simple things in life.

The skipping and hopping outside our homes, the playing of sticks and stones and just goofying around with our blankets.

Yesterday was my brother's birthday. We used to have celebration with cake, singing of birthday song and blowing out candles. Or maybe a night out to the club with friends and lots of booze... but yet it was a quiet night wth just verbal wishes and "practical" gifts with my bro. No cakes, no song and no more making a wish... We probably gotten so "old" that we are starting to miss out FUN as a family. Kinda of feeling sad for him that no one seems to make an effort to get him a cake or get all fussed about his birthday.

Today I was sitting at the tv room with him. I gave him the sweetest smile, offering him my subway sandwich...which he politely declined. The next moment I turned around and he fell asleep.
I looked at him and I thought: "He seems looking happy sleeping and relaxing on his birthday."  At that moment, I thought maybe the peaceful and quiet moment is what he wanted on his special day.

In my heart: I wish him all the happiness and peace that he ever needs forever

Happy birthday brother !
