Attended a course recently to improve personal effectiveness, to set personal goals and clearly define your roles and responsilibities, be it at work or in life.
To be honest, I didn't really think of what's my personal goals or values are ...
No plan is the best plan - that's what I always think but somehow this course got me thinking : "What do I want to achieve in 10 years time?"
With no goals, I will never work towards any targets
Maybe the "no plan is the best plan" probably works only for certain situations such as traveling plans but not for all things in life !
This course got me down to self-reflect about my goals in life and the plans for my future. Not that I don't have plans before but I haven't get down to planning it or even thinking of it. I live on a day by day.
It got me thinking and I finally kinda of set my two goals in life (tentatively):
1. I want to be freed from all financial burden when I'm 50 years old (less than two decades). I want to be debt free !!! I'm now having a housing loan and in order to be debt free, I need to pay at least $50k annually ! This needs financial planning and a well paying job to sustain it.
2. I want to have a family of my own, with kids in the next 5 years ! Family and relationships meant the whole to me. Having a sense of belonging and being in love is a big part of my life. I'm someone who gives, loves and want to be loved in return... So Emotional ya, but its true for me.... I need to think of my retirement plans.
How does my personal goals able to align with the organization goals ? This is something I really have to think ..values, time management, stress management ?
Here's some interesting stuff that our team came out with ...
